The Mental Health Liaison Group (MHLG) is a coalition of national organizations representing consumers, family members, mental health and addiction providers, advocates, payers and other stakeholders committed to strengthening Americans’ access to mental health and addiction care. As trusted leaders in the field, our 60+ member organizations are dedicated to elevating the national conversation around mental health and addiction. Together, we work to advance federal policies that support prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery services and supports.

What’s New

MHLG opposes provisions within the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

November 17, 2017: The Mental Health Liaison Group sent a letter to Majority Leader McConnell, Speaker Ryan, and Chairmen Hatch and Brady to express opposition of specific provisions within the House and Senate versions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, particularly the provisions repealing the Affordable Care Act’s individual shared responsibility mandate and the House’s provision repealing the medical expense deduction. MHLG supports the Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Expansion Act (S. 1950/H.R.3931)

November 14, 2017: The group sent a letter to Senators Blunt and Stabenow and Representatives Lance and Matsui thanking them for authoring this legislation to expand the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) demonstration program. Read letter.
